Angus, thongs and perfect snogging!

Angus, thongs and perfect snogging!
Angus, thongs and perfect snogging is 2008 British 'coming-of-age' film staring Georgia Groome. The story involves a 14-year-old girl who keeps a diary about the ups and downs of her life of being a teenager. She also keeps a note on the things she learns about kissing. Georgia is the main character who falls in love with a boy names Robbie. Unfortunately, Robbie is Lindsay's boyfriend. Lindsay is Georgia's rival who is classed as an antagonist in the film. She is presented as pretty but a bully towards Georgia.
 Georgia Nicolson.

Georgia is presented as a typical school girl. She cares about her appearance and what people think about her. She has a crush on a boy at her school which is stereotypical for a girl to have. Georgia embarrasses her self by trying fake tan but it makes her legs go orange. This shows she is trying to impress other people and try to 'fit in'. Georgia constantly asks for her party to be in a club in order for it to be good. She wanted this so she could gain more popularity however, her parents did not approve to this. This also shows how she wanted to be presented towards the people she knows by trying to impress them.
Robbie.
Robbie is presented as a popular and sporty teenage boy. It is stereotypical for young males to be interested and good at sport. He can also be a countertype as he works with his mum at a fruit and vegetable shop. Usually, boys will do more manly jobs as they are strong and more capable. For example, working with their father or doing something involving mechanics or sport.

Lindsay.
Lindsay is presented as a stereotypical popular female. She is pretty and well dressed with knowledge on hair and makeup. She is up her self as she knows she is better than her rival Georgia. This shows she cares about her appearance. Although her character is not shown a lot during the film, everybody around her understand where they stand with her. For example, she can get any guy she wants as she intimidates the fellow students.

The film was set in a variety of places such as a school, Georgia's bedroom and a swimming pool. This is Hampton pool. This scene involves Georgia Going swimming with her friend and Robbie is already in the pool. Georgia is embarrassed by her orange legs. Robbie and Georgia finally kiss, he then leaves as he has some things to do.

School uniform.
This image shows Georgia and her friends. They are wearing school uniform which connotes that the film is set in a school and they are also young teenagers. The school uniform is classic as they are wearing long skirts which show they are formal. They are also wearing blazers, shirts and ties. It is stereotypical for pupils to wear uniform in Britain as they are the rules for most schools.

The lighting in this film is a mixture of high and low key. This could show the ups and downs of a teenage life. In one scene, there was loads of shots related to mise-en-scene showing what the Georgia and her friends were wearing, especially close ups and long shots. Also there was quite a few point of view shots from Georgia's prospective when entering the room full of all her `friends`. Also there is a mid shot on Lindsay, when everyone laughs at Georgia's choice of costume. This represents Lindsay as the most dominant out of her and Georgia.

A song used in the film is 'She's So Lovely' by Scouting for Girls. This song is fast but has a bright tone. This tells the audience the film could be a romantic comedy.

This shot is in the film. This is a form of editing. The screen has been made into a diary which shows it is a film about a young teenage girl as it is stereotypical to write a diary. Also it has font saying "How to make an entrance". This is a 'guide' to the viewers and it also represents Georgia as a character.
