The breakfast club title sequence.

The breakfast club.
I found this title sequence on YouTube. The teen angst film I chose is 1 minute and 42 seconds long. The music played the whole way through is laid back and upbeat at a medium pace. This flows well with the age audience as it shows of how active young people can be.

00:00 – The background is grey with cracks looking like a pavement or wall.
00:01 – Shoes from the top left move into the middle of the screen followed by another pair of trainers at the bottom. The toes of the shoes are pointing to the middle to show the bright orange title saying ‘AN A&M FILMS CHANNEL PRODUCTION’. This is also when the (non-diegetic) music starts.
00:04- The title fades out. The background and images stay the same.
00:06- The next title, A JOHN HUGHES FILM, fades in. the same colour and font has been used. The words are in capitals with a blocky formed font.
00:07- The trainers move away from the shot. The title is still on the screen but fades onto the background at 00:09.
00:10- The background changes into a chalkboard with a green background with white, curly font which is more formal saying the breakfast club. The font and colours have changed to show it is the title of the film. The title fades into this background from the previous shot.
00:16- Slide changes into a light yellow/brown wooden table as a background.
00:17-A grocery bag appears by swiping in on the right side of the screen. The bag includes an apple, banana and a sandwich. A can appears on the top left corner at the same time.
0:19- ‘Starring (in alphabetical order) Emilio Estevez.’  This is the next title shown. The font changes into a smaller size with mixed capital letters. The colour is changed to red. The middle left of the screen is where the title is placed. A picture of a character is placed on the top right captioned ‘The athlete’.
00:22- 2 folders appear on the screen. They are named ‘Andrew Clark’ and ‘Brian Johnson’. When the folders come on, they push everything else off the screen.
00:23- Paul Gleason appears on the folder. The font is red with bigger font size.
00:24- Pencils swipe in. A picture of a principle pointing also appears.
00:25- Title Paul fades quickly.
00:26-A notebook and paper appear from the left swiping everything off the screen.
00:28- Anthony Michael Hall appears on left middle with same font and colour. Black sunglasses appear underneath the title.
00:30- Picture captioned ‘The brain’ comes onto note paper.
00:32- Blue gloves come from the left bottom and ‘cleans’ by pushing everything off the page.
00:33- John Kapelos is the next title. It is in the same place, same font and colour.
00:35- The gloves wipe the name off the background with picture on the right saying ‘Janitor’. The gloves represent the character well.
00:37- Eat my shorts appear. This is a different font. It looks like it has been carved into the table. The colour is darker with mixed font sizes. A picture overlaps the old picture saying ‘the criminal’.
00:39- Cigarettes appear on the page next to title ‘Judd Nelson’. This title is placed in the same location as the other titles.
00:40- Each object/ words move off the page in different directions one by one.
00:45- Lipstick appears on the bottom left. This shows a female character. The picture is captioned with ‘The princess’.
00:45- Title saying Molly Ringwald. Same place with font.
00:47- Everything on the left side swipes off. A new notepad overlaps the picture and objects on the right of the screen.
00:50- Ally Sheedy is another title which appears. Another picture is on the screen captioned ‘The basket case’. A pen and pencil are located on bottom left of screen.
00:54- Picture moves out as well as the title of name. Eat my shorts appears again, same font at before and it appears on the top of the screen.
00:56- The title ‘Casting by’ is in small font whereas ‘Jack Burch’ is bigger. There is a picture of 5 people in the same place where the pictures have always been.
