Setting

This is a scene of myself and Danni walking into school. This shows the audience why we had to get up early and where we are going. It shows we are the same age as our audience because we are still in school. Sean was in charge of filming this scene outside. It was a little windy outside however this did not affect our film due to music going over the top. We decided to have the camera behind us to show where we are heading towards. In Mean girls, there are a mixture of camera shots showing Cady Heron and other students walking into school.
This is a photo of myself shooting a mid shot of Danni in bed. During this scene, Danni wakes up to get ready for school. The chose this setting as it looks like a stereotypical teenage room. The colours are red which could fore shadow something bad which may happen to Danni's character in the film. This would be she is lonely at school, no one has her back and she doesn't really have anyone to turn too. However, the colour red can also indicate to love. Danni meets the 'new boy' and instantly has a crush on him. This is one of the conventions in a teen angst film. In Wild child, there is a scene showing Poppy waking up. We wanted to have something similar to make our opening stereotypical.
This is a sign outside the school doors. This shows the viewer where the film is based. Mainly all our film will be based in a school setting. This is so it can relate to many viewers at home. School is where main events, gossip and friendship come from. The convention used is personal identity. This is because everyone has their own perspective of their school life. 'High school' is also another stereotypical convention used in teen angst.
